In the heart of Destin, Florida’s booming real estate market, Studio M Interior Design was tasked with elevating a high-end spec house to new heights of luxury. The property, part of a visionary development project, presented a blank canvas—a structure with placeholder elements but lacking the refined detailing that discerning buyers expect.

Our mission: to infuse this expansive 14,000-square-foot home with a unique identity, blending modern Destin, Florida interior design with influences from the popular Alys Beach look, which draws its inspiration from Barbados and Mediterranean architectural styles. The challenge lay in creating an interior that would appeal to affluent buyers while setting a new standard for luxury in the area.

Our Solution

Embracing the opportunity to redefine Destin interior design, our design team:

  4. Balanced opulence with intimacy, skillfully designing transitional spaces that maintain flow and cohesion across the home’s four floors.
  5. Incorporated elements like hand-hewn beams, sawmill wood textures and high-end tile to infuse authentic charm and luxury into every corner.
  6. Meticulously planned each room’s identity while maintaining a cohesive theme that honors the overall architectural vision.
The Result

Our modern interior design approach transformed this Destin spec home into a masterpiece of coastal luxury. The seamless blend of innovative materials, bespoke details, and thoughtful space planning resulted in a home that:

  • Captivated high-profile viewers, including celebrities Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, who were particularly impressed by the high-end finishes.
  • The Wall Street Journal featured and praised the Destin 30A area, calling it the Hamptons of the South. This garnered national attention for its exceptional design.
  • Significantly increased in value, selling for $25 million—more than double its original valuation.
